Is Avengers 2 better than the original?
I’m glad to see Marvel having so much success in the movie industry these days. I grew up with horrible movies and the idea that there might be an Avengers 2 to go out and see was laughable at best. It’s a good time to be a comic book fan.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a few small problems. One of those problems is that all of the movies have to tie together. You don’t have a stand alone Captain America movie. Sure the plots are specific and individual, but at the same time, you have to have that movie add to the overall universe of movies. The key problem that this creates is that if you haven’t seen one of the movies for whatever reason, you are out of touch with the overall plot of the tie in movies.
The other problem that Marvel is going to run into soon is that the key actors for these movies are growing too old for the roles. (As well as the possibility that they might want to do something else with their careers besides playing just one part.)
That has little to do with the impact of Avengers 2: the Age of Ultron. So how does this edition compare with the original? Well, let me tell you a story about the second time I watched the first Avengers movie.
My buddy, Zach, and I had gone to see the Avengers. It was his first time and when we were driving home, Zach looked at me and said, “Dude, I just want to go out and be a hero.”
I understood what he meant, and I agreed with that, but I didn’t have that feeling after watching Avengers 2, and that might be the most important way to explain my relationship to Avengers 2: the Age of Ultron.
What are your thoughts about the movie?
